On this beautiful day we will explore Jeju Island, part of South Korea. One of the most exciting days of our tour! For a day full of dazzling colors and delights, we head on a scenic journey to the Jungmun resort area on Jeju Island. We go to Yeomiji Botanical Garden, the largest botanical garden in Asia. Here you will discover a three-acre glass greenhouse anchored by a 38-meter-high observation tower. More than 2,000 exotic plant and flower species are displayed in breathtaking exhibits, along with 24 acres of themed outdoor gardens. Then we continue to Cheonjiyeon to photograph its dazzling three-tiered waterfall and bright red bridge, featuring carved figures of seven nymphs symbolizing a local legend. We will embark on a spiritual journey at Yakcheonsa Temple, the largest Buddhist temple in Asia, built magnificently in the early Joseon Dynasty style. After our temple visit, we will have free time for souvenir shopping at the colorful Maeil Olle Market. At the end of the tour, we return to our ship.
Day 5 – (23.11.2026) Nagasaki | Nagasaki City Tour
After breakfast on the ship, guests who wish may join the Nagasaki City Tour organized as an extra by our guide. We begin our tour by heading to Peace Memorial Park. Here we will witness the view of Megami Ohashi Bridge and the Mitsubishi shipyard. Peace Memorial Park is located near the Ground Zero of the August 9, 1945 explosion. The Atomic Bomb Museum records the events leading to the bombing and the bombing itself. Walk to the Atomic Bomb Hypocenter, a black monolith marking Ground Zero. We will visit the rebuilt Urakami Cathedral and the one-legged Torii gate. From here we continue to Dejima Island and visit the Dejima Museum, which explains how the unique Japan-Dutch trade system worked for two centuries. We will walk to Glover Garden in the Foreign Settlement area, home to seven historic buildings including Japan’s first wooden Western-style house.
Day 6 – (24.11.2026) Kagoshima | Kamikaze Museum & Senganen Japanese Garden Tour
After breakfast on the ship, guests who wish may join the “Kamikaze Museum & Senganen Japanese Garden Tour” organized as an extra by their guide. On this impressive tour, our first stop will be the Chiran Peace Museum, which tells the story of the Kamikaze pilots and their aircraft during World War II—men who knew their final missions were their last, yet went to their deaths without hesitation for their country, something Americans could not publicly acknowledge until the end of the war. Next, we will take a pleasant walk in Senganen, considered one of the most beautiful traditional Japanese gardens in the country, to better appreciate this art. We will visit the house within the garden that the Shimadzu family cherished for generations. We will enjoy the Japanese gardens and the special view of Kagoshima Bay and Sakurajima Volcano. We will learn about the lifestyle of Prince Shimadzu Tadayoshi. We will see how distinguished guests from both Japan and abroad were welcomed by the Shimadzu family at Sengan-en in those times. Sengan-en and the Shoko Shuseikan Museum were inscribed as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site in 2015. After free time on Kagoshima’s main street, our tour ends at the port.
Day 7 – (25.11.2026) Hiroshima | Itsukushima Shrine & Hiroshima City Tour
After breakfast on the ship, guests who wish may join the Hiroshima City Tour organized as an extra by our guide. We begin by visiting Itsukushima Shrine, designated as a World Heritage Site, National Treasure, and Important Cultural Property. The shrine’s unique architecture, called Shinden, is a typical example of aristocratic houses from the late Heian Period. Elegant vermilion-lacquered shrine and supporting buildings, connected by long corridors and cloisters, spread over a pier standing above tidal flats. At high tide, the sixth-century Itsukushima Shrine and its picturesque red Torii gate appear to float on the water. Then we return to Hiroshima and visit the Peace Memorial Park and its museum. We will see the Atomic Bomb Dome here. The skeletal dome structure stands as a silent symbol of destruction. We will visit the Children’s Peace Monument, inspired by a girl who died of leukemia as a result of atomic radiation. The park now receives about 10 million paper cranes each year in the name of world peace. During your visit, we will see the colorful paper cranes hanging all around. At the end of the tour, we return to our ship.
Day 8 – (26.11.2026) Kochi | Kochi Castle & Kochi City Tour
After breakfast on the ship, guests who wish may join the Kochi Castle & Kochi City Tour organized as an extra by our guide. Learn how Kochi became a center of pro-imperial ideology at the end of the feudal period while visiting two of the city’s most respected landmarks. We head from the pier to Kochi Castle. Built more than 400 years ago by feudal lord Yamanouchi Kazutoyo, the “donjon,” or main tower, is worth the climb, offering famous panoramic views of the entire city. The tour takes you through the beautifully restored Tsumemon Gate, which connects the castle’s second fortress to its inner sanctum, and no visit is complete without seeing the living quarters, or “honmaru,” which house local and historical treasures. After a walk through the castle grounds, we board our bus and head to beautiful Katsurahama Beach. There stands the statue of Sakamoto Ryoma, one of Japan’s most beloved historical figures, known for transforming feudal Japan into a modernized, unified nation. At the end of the tour, we return to our ship.
Day 9 – (27.11.2026) Osaka | Nijo Castle & Kyoto City Tour
After breakfast on the ship, guests who wish may join the Nijo Castle & Heian Shrine tour organized as an extra by our guide. We begin the Nijo Castle and Kyoto City Tour. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Nijo Castle is the best surviving example of castle architecture from Japan’s feudal period in the 17th century. Its almost entirely cedar-built extravagant interiors are decorated with gold leaf and finely crafted wood carvings. For the shogun’s protection, the builders of Nijo Castle created floors known as “nightingale floors”; if an intruder entered the corridors, the floors would squeak like birds. Some rooms in the castle also have special doors and hidden chambers where guards could conceal themselves. Then we head to Heian Shrine, also known as the Shrine of Peace, considered one of the most important and visually striking Shinto shrines in Kyoto. The 82-foot-tall torii gate, dedicated to the spirits of the first and last emperors to rule from the city, was built in 1895 to commemorate Kyoto’s founding in 795. During the tour, photography and video are not allowed inside Nijo Castle (Ninomaru Palace) and Heian Shrine (Shinto Shrine), but the exterior visit to the Golden Pavilion provides many photo-worthy shots. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a National Special Historic Site, the Pavilion is one of the most popular attractions in Japan. At the end of the tour, we return to our ship.

You will see Nagoya Castle, which was destroyed during World War II but faithfully reconstructed and sheds light on 17th-century Japan, Honmaru Palace, the Toyota Commemorative Museum of Industry and Technology, where you will learn about the development of textiles, automobiles, and steam engine technology, and Atsuta Shrine, where you will get acquainted with Shintoism. After free time, we return to our ship.

With the ship’s arrival in Shimizu Port, we head to the fairy-tale-like Lake Ashi, about 1.5 hours away. After a boat ride lasting about half an hour, we visit the towns where we can best experience the traditional Japanese culture around Mount Fuji. While listening to the legendary stories of these towns with their famous Mount Fuji views, we will take a trip that best introduces life outside the big cities, and then return to our ship.

In this city, once the old seat of government in Japan, you will step into a completely different world with its temples and statues. One of the most well-known places at the heart of the excursion is Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine — Kamakura’s most important Shinto shrine and one of the symbols of samurai culture. Also called Santa-jama (Temple of the Three Gods), Asakusa is very popular with both tourists and locals. It is one of the rare temples that survived the bombing raids in the final year of World War II, so the original structure of the building remains intact. The temple also hosts the Santa Festival every May. According to legend, Asakusa Temple was built by two fisherman brothers to pay their respects to the goddess of mercy, Kannon.
